It's Wednesday, July 15th. Good morning. Happy hump day. It already feels 30 in Brantford. Gas jumped 7 cents overnight to $1.71. I'm Stacey Englehart. All hot and sticky again today, portions of Southern Ontario remain under a heat alert. Environment Canada said areas of Brantford, Hamilton, Waterloo region under a yellow warning for not only the temperature but for poor air quality because of smoke from forest fires. Six Nations residents still not allowed to drink the water from the taps. Health officials say the boil water advisory that was issued Thursday after a water main break is still in effect. While the water main break was fixed, the boil advisory will stay in place until water quality tests come back clear. Firefighters in Norfolk County have been battling a massive blaze that killed 20,000 pigs at a farm just west of Simcoe. Officials say this is one of the largest pig farms in the province. A portion of Highway 3 was blocked off yesterday. Residents are being warned of poor air quality. And does this mean we're next? It should if it goes through. The U.S. government passed a bill to make daylight time more permanent. Now it now has to go to the Senate for a vote. Ontario passed a law six years ago saying we will stop changing the clocks and move to permanent daylight time if New York State and Quebec do the exact same thing. Hot country sports baseball All-Star game yesterday. The AL beat the NL 4-0, the first shutout in 13 years. The FIFA World Cup semi-finals. Spain blanked France 2-0 and moves on to the final. Who will they play? That game is decided this afternoon when England plays Argentina at 3. In the WNBA, the Toronto Tempo lost to Washington 79-62. And the NBA commissioner wants the league's investigation into the Kawhi Leonard contract to be completed sometime this summer. The Clippers and Raptors have put the trade on hold.
